The Real Thing

I seriously cannot wait to go & hit up the Soundwave Festival this coming Friday...I am SO excited to finally get to see Faith No More live! Just thinking about it gets my adrenaline pumping. Mike Patton is definitely a musician & performer I idolise so it is amazing for me to actually have the opportunity to see him in the flesh. Not to mention having the chance to see 80's thrash legands Anthrax on the same bill! Fuck. Yes!

Sell Your Body (To The Night!)

Had the most EPIC weekend! Went to my friend Jesse's house party on Friday night and then hit up Cherry bar on Saturday for some intense birthday-boozing. Highlights included: seeing my Sydney friend Sookie, free drinks, catching up with old mates, partying til daybreak & being scandalous- Oh yeah, and recieving all the awesome birthday wishes from everyone! There were a few dramas but it was nothing a few J&D's couldn't solve!

Denim Demon

I bought a cheap denim jacket from an op-shop a while ago that I cut into a vest. I didn't like the colour so I bleached it, now it looks sexy as...but I still see it as a total blank canvas. I was thinking about patching it up bay area thrash-style, but that's really not my thing (Plus my boyfriend would get jealous when my vest turned out better than his! Hehe). So, i've decided i'm going to buy some studs and make it br00tal a la S-J Whiteley (I love her):

Girls, Girls, Girls

Okay, so i've recently been playing a lot of bass, and being a female bassist, it got me thinking hard about what female musicians I admire the most and why... So here's what I got:

Ruyter Suys


For those reading who are unaware, Ruyter (Pronouced: Rider) is the lead guitarist for sleazy American southern rock band Nashville Pussy, and man, this bitch is fucking crazy! Always armed with her trademark Gibson SG, Ruyter writhes on the floor mid-solo in her lace underwear, swigs from a bottle of Jack or downs a beer between songs- She seriously plays up to the renowned trashy nature of the band perfectly (And it makes me want an SG bass SO bad!). I cannot wait to see her & the rest of Nashville in action at the Espy next month!


Lita Ford


80's icon Lita Ford first gained attention as lead guitarist in all-girl band The Runaways (w/ Joan Jett) and then later on became popular for her solo career. I absolutley love her style: big blonde hair and clad in leather, studs & stilettos! Famed for her killer looks, Lita was the original poster girl of heavy metal.


Sean Yseult


Bassist to one of my favourite bands White Zombie, Sean is pretty much the reason I started playing. She just blows my brains with the rumble & groove of her bass. I can't even describe it. I admire her abilities so much (plus she is totally badass!) For that reason, La Sexorcisto is my all-time favourite album to play along to.


Urgh!!! If only I could have Ruyter's attitude, Lita's style and Sean's shred skills...

That is me. This is my blog.

Basically i'll sum it up for you: My name is Emily, I am a 19 y.o blonde from Melbourne, Australia. I have an obsession with music. Some of my favourite bands include: Skid Row, Turbonegro, White Zombie, Faith No More, Motley Crue, Megadeth and Alice in Chains. I have been playing bass guitar since I was 15 years old and love it to death. My favourite bass player is Sean Yseult of White Zombie fame- She's a babe!

I like to party. I have an unhealthy addiction to black, denim, studded and leather clothing. Skulls, leopard print and pink lipstick are also rad. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is my favourite movie(I secretly dream about living in a treehouse on Endor with Wicket as a roommate...).
